Home Visits

Home visits are reserved for those who are housebound patients. We receive a large number of requests for home visits each day. It is important that we know the reason for the request so that the doctor can prioritise their visit schedule (please note that the home visits take place after the GP has finished their surgery). The reception staff will ask the reason for your home visit request; please give as much information as possible.

The doctor will assess your request and will decide on appropriate action. Depending on the assessment, you might be visited either on the day or during the week or the doctor might refer you to be visited by the community nurse.

It is helpful if requests for home visits are made before 10.30am and full details of the patient’s name, age, address, telephone number and reason for the visit are given.
